On May 21, 2014 at 7 PM, Greensboro & area Ride of Silence  Cyclists will take to the road to honor cyclists who have been killed or injured while cycling on public roadways.
Although cyclists have a legal right to share the road with motorists, the motoring public often isn't aware of these rights, and sometimes are not aware of the cyclists themselves.
Join Bicycling In Greensboro in a worldwide memorial in honor of those who have been injured or killed while cycling on public roadways. If you only do one group ride this year, make it the Ride of Silence. This slow-paced ride (±7 mi @ 10 mph max.) is suitable for bicyclists of all ability levels. The group will be escorted by Greensboro Police, to stop traffic at intersections, and assist with safety measures. Ride support will ensure that no one is left behind. Free registration from 6 pm to 6:45 pm. A signed liability waiver & helmet is required for all participants. Ride departs 7 pm sharp. Returns to start location by 8 pm.
Children are welcome but need to be accompanied by a guardian at all times.
